This is an exciting, timely opportunity for an accomplished, commercially-minded senior leader at the head of the principal professional body for individuals and organisations involved in all areas of international trade.

​​

The Chartered Institute has the objective of Empowering International Trade, delivering professional education and qualifications, training, advisory services and business support across the sector; more than that, it champions standards, offers wide-ranging technical and policy expertise and provides a voice and a community for members. International trade faces many challenges from many different directions. This is a chance to to influence and champion the sector.

We are now looking for a proven, business-focused Director General to work with the Board to execute an ambitious strategy which combines impact with business growth, ensuring that the organisation and its members can face those challenges head-on. This needs to be someone with strong commercial credentials, an authentic belief in the importance and impact of international trade and the leadership skills to develop and drive forward an organisation at the forefront of this important part of the economy.

The job demands outstanding qualities of strategic leadership and execution, business judgment, communications skills and personal authority, together with the commitment, thoroughness and professionalism needed to make a major and lasting difference.
